St Mary’s Catholic High School, is a large secondary school based in Chesterfield that has 18 different teaching blocks for 1350 pupils aged between 11 and 18.
Services Provided
Currently, the school receives daily IT support from one of our Link ICT technicians, Connor Staton who is based on-site at Chesterfield every day of the week. Along with this, we also have a Network Manager, Mark Berridge who is there 3 days a week to provide support for the more complex projects and IT issues. This has included preparing and setting up ‘servers as a service’ which commenced over February 2024 half term. This has ensured that the school has more robust security measures as a result of us installing a back up server, server, network cabinet and switching.
Just as we do for all our other customers, we have also provided access to the online support ticketing software which enables our customers to submit a support request when needed, even if this request is out of hours. Meaning our technicians will always endeavour to answer any queries promptly.
As part of our procurement process, we assessed the schools current IT solutions at the beginning of the project. Allowing us to take into consideration the most applicable and suitable technical specifications. We could then define what every user needs from their equipment and identify how our procurement experience could help. We then supported in the implementation of these servers into the schools infrastructure, whilst also ensuring that the schools IT security measures were built upon as part of this process.
As a result of the services that have been provided, Mark and Connor are now able to sufficiently increase St Mary’s interconnectivity, cyber security and networking.
Additionally, Link ICT has helped to install 68 Clevertouch screens. Allowing for teaching staff to be supported by the interactivity and educational enhancement provided by these screens. Children can feel more involved in their lessons, helping them to learn in the best way they can and supplementing their learning with audio and visual stimuli.
St Mary’s Catholic High School continues to expand its number of users which means that more devices require internet connection. To ensure the quality and speed of connectivity are maintained, as part of Link ICT’s support package, we provided a backup internet connection as well as substantially strengthened the existing one. This means that the school’s internet connection and network capabilities will meet existing and future demands.

St Mary’s has benefited from our expertise and buying power and now has a more robust, secure and reliable IT network, software and hardware. This means users can work more effectively and efficiently and have an enjoyable and rewarding user experience.
